Remove regional markers from the language name [e.g. "English (US)"] in views for user-generated content

Background

Lila rolls up regional variants of a language into a single user-facing entry for UGC. This is for cases where we store the language as user-selectable metadata (blogs, coaches, maybe more).

So English and Portuguese for example have a single entry, instead of separate entries for US/International English and European/Brazilian Portuguese. This is a sensible way to approach it in general.

The names of these languages are taken directly from the LangList.scala. Because of how this was implemented, they consequently include a regional variation in their name e.g. "English (US)" and "Português (BR)".

Proposal

Change the way that languages appear on the frontend, so that regional variations are removed from the names of the languages shown to users.
e.g. "English (US)" would become just "English", and "Português (BR)" would become "Português".

This also affected lichess.org/pt/ (for anons) since it used pt-PT
although in this case I would have preferred there to be a lichess.org/br/

What would the issue be? Is it not possible for a Brazilian Portuguese and European Portuguese speaker to easily understand each other?

At least for English, there should be no problem in rolling up both International and US English to just "English".

It's easy to understand and communicate, but for a person who does a livestream in pt-pt and lichess tells everyone that the live is in pt-br

on twitch there is no way to tell what kind of portuguese is used

For context: there are some issues in Portuguese that generate confusion between pt-pt and pt-br

For a pt-pt to be shown that its own content is being called pt-br can be confusing.
Mainly because the way of speaking/writing is different

Some pt-br needs subtitles to understand pt-pt
