I set up an API Proxy to forward APIs from some providers. There are about 2000+ models and the catlog document is over 50MB.

This is addressed in the next release: the model list is now filtered to the models your account can actually use (live GetUsableModels, 81c3a64), the static catalog no longer contains speculative entries (853d55a, 5346fa1), and the confusing per-provider All on/off toggles were removed (3714d18). Closing — please reopen if the list still shows models you can't use.

Reopening — my previous comment misread this issue. The changes I referenced (live GetUsableModels, catalog de-speculation) apply to the Cursor provider's model list, not to your case: a custom API proxy exposing 2000+ models, which still produces an oversized catalog document (each routed model clones a full native template in buildCatalogEntries) and an unpaginated Models page. That remains unfixed; keeping this open to track catalog-size strategy + GUI pagination/filtering for large provider lists. Sorry for the noise.

My desired functionality is this:
each provider may have many models, but we often only need one or a few.
When switching models in CodeX, only the selected models should be displayed. OCX itself has five featured models; could we allow users to manually select the models they need under these featured models, instead of displaying all models at the bottom? This also makes the catalog file very large.

Resolved in v2.6.19 (main/preview) — a per-provider model allowlist was added so a provider exposing thousands of models no longer bloats the Codex catalog or the Models page.

What shipped:

• selectedModels per-provider allowlist (backend, 69c0708): when set, only the chosen model ids are emitted to the Codex catalog and /v1/models — live discovery still runs, this just narrows what ships. Applied at a single choke point (filterCatalogVisibleModels); the admin /api/models list stays full so you can pick. New /api/selected-models GET/PUT.
• Models page (GUI, 13ef7f5): per-provider "Only selected" toggle with a checkbox allowlist (empty = all), plus a per-provider search box and a 60-row render cap with "show more" so a 2000-model provider stays usable. i18n for en/ko/zh.

This directly covers your request ("only show the models I actually need under the featured set"), and also covers built-in aggregators like OpenRouter. Set a provider's selectedModels (or use the Models page "Only selected" toggle) to trim the catalog.

Please reopen if the catalog is still oversized after selecting your models.
