As noticed by @SethTisue before on https://github.com/sbt/sbt-git/releases, moving to sbt-git 1.0 would mean moving to at least java 8 (rather than at least java 7). Would that be a problem?

seems to me (despite my previous comment) that anyone still stuck on Java 6 or 7 should be fine just sticking with whatever genjavadoc version they're already using (and anyway, very often stuff built on Java 8 works fine on Java 6 or 7)
