Installation

Requirements

  • macOS: macOS 11.0 (Big Sur) or later
  • Windows: Windows 10 or later (64-bit)
  • Linux: Ubuntu 20.04+, Debian 10+, Fedora 32+, or equivalent

Download

Choose your platform:

macOS

Windows

Linux

Or browse all versions on the Releases page.

Install

macOS

  1. Download the appropriate installer for your processor
  2. Open the DMG file
  3. Drag Nova to your Applications folder
  4. Launch Nova from Applications

Windows

  1. Download the appropriate installer for your processor
  2. Run the installer
  3. Follow the installation wizard
  4. Launch Nova from the Start menu or desktop shortcut

Linux

AppImage:

  1. Download Nova-x86_64.AppImage or Nova-amd64.AppImage depending on your architecture
  2. Make it executable: chmod +x Nova-x86_64.AppImage or chmod +x Nova-amd64.AppImage
  3. Run: ./Nova-x86_64.AppImage or ./Nova-amd64.AppImage

Debian/Ubuntu (.deb):

  1. Download Nova-amd64.deb or Nova-arm64.deb depending on your architecture
  2. Install: sudo dpkg -i Nova-amd64.deb or sudo dpkg -i Nova-arm64.deb
  3. Launch: nova or find it in your applications menu

Update Channels

Nova offers three update channels to match your preferences:

Channel Description
Stable Thoroughly tested releases for everyday use
Beta Preview upcoming features before general release
Experimental Latest developments, can be unstable

Change your update channel in Settings → General.
