This would be useful for our trip next year, two families. I don't want other family to see our expenses. |

When a trip has multiple families or subgroups traveling together, all trip members can currently see everyone's expenses. For example: two families sharing one trip, each covering their own costs, one family shouldn't be able to see the other family's expense details (amounts, categories, notes).
Solution ideas:
Add a visibility/privacy option on expenses, such as:
Private to me — only the person who logged it can see it
Visible to selected members — choose specific trip members/subgroups who can view it
Visible to everyone (current default behavior) — for shared costs like a joint dinner or rental car.
This could pair nicely with the existing budget/cost tracking, shared expenses stay visible to all for splitting purposes, while personal or family-only expenses stay scoped down.
Of course we can create separate trips per family, but that defeats the point of planning together (shared itinerary, map, days) and loses the collaboration aspect that makes TREK useful for group trips.
