[FEATURE REQUEST] Some more feature requests!

Hi! I discovered Nomad yesterday and am amazed at how comprehensive it already is and how quickly it’s being developed. I’m determined to use it to plan my next vacations!

I also have a few requests and suggestions for improvement:

1. Map: I think it would be handy if you could view the activities for individual days on the map instead of always seeing all days. Maybe you could implement a hide/show feature when you click on the day number?

2. Routes: It would be handy if, between two activities, you could see how long the trip takes using your preferred mode of transportation (walking / car / public transit?). Here’s how a competitor has implemented this, for example: https://i.imgur.com/mAOFDKn.png ;) Regarding the route, it would be excellent if you could also view the route between activities on the map!

3. Daily overview (bottom center): It would be great if users could see a summary of the locations/activities planned for the day, ideally with the time frame

4. In general, I find the text on the left side of the planning overview to be quite small. Perhaps an “accessibility setting” would be useful, allowing users to choose between two or three different text sizes?

I look forward to seeing as many of these features implemented as possible! :)

Here is the changelog for Nomad v2.6.0:

New features

• Day visibility on the map: Days in the planning overview can now be collapsed and expanded individually. Only the activities for visible days are shown on the map, making it easier to focus on a specific part of your trip. Your preferences are saved and restored on reload.
• Routes between activities: A new setting allows you to enable routes between your planned stops. When active, the route is drawn directly on the map, giving you a clear picture of how your day flows geographically.

Noted for possible future updates

• Daily activity summary with planned locations and time frames (bottom center)
• Text size / accessibility settings with two or three selectable font sizes

@mauriceboe Is there a setting to enable hiding collapsed days? I'm on 2.7.1, and even with all days collapsed, it is still showing all of the planned places on the map. This is my map with all the days collapsed. Each day has about 7-8 places.

@JPDVM2014 This is now implemented on dev — collapsing a day hides its places from the map. Places that are assigned to multiple days will only hide when all their days are collapsed. Unplanned places (not assigned to any day) always stay visible.

The other features from the original request (routes between activities, day visibility toggle) were already shipped in earlier versions.

How do you make the travel time visible as seen in the first picture in this thread? I see the dotted line, but no travel times. I'm running version 2.9.13

Figured out that the times are there, but are not visible unless you zoom in a lot. Makes it hard to use when you have very distance trips.
