Drag Map Markers Directly to a Day in the Itinerary

Description

Currently, assigning a place to a specific day requires finding the entry in the sidebar and interacting with it there. The proposal is to allow the user to drag a map marker and drop it onto a day slot in the itinerary panel, directly from the map view.

Proposed Interaction

1. User long-presses (or click-holds on desktop) a map marker to enter drag mode.
2. The itinerary day list becomes visible as a drop target — either as a side panel that slides in, or as a persistent strip at the bottom/side of the screen.
3. User drags the marker over the desired day and releases.
4. The place is added to that day's itinerary. A brief confirmation toast appears (e.g., "Café Roma added to Day 3").
5. The marker updates visually to reflect it has been scheduled (e.g., a checkmark badge or a change in opacity).

Edge Cases to Consider

• If the place is already assigned to a day, dragging it to a new day should move it, not duplicate it — with a confirmation if needed.
• If the place is assigned to multiple days (e.g., a hotel covering several nights), the drag action should clarify whether it's moving the entry or adding a new one.
• Dropping onto a day that already has many items should still work — the item is appended to the end of that day's list.

Value

This dramatically reduces friction for the core planning workflow. The map and the itinerary become a single unified workspace rather than two panels that require constant switching. Power users planning a dense multi-day trip will benefit the most from this.
