"stupid" code explanation

Can you explain why did you feel this allocation was necessary ? and why you considered it "stupid" ?

I do not exactly remember the reason for this. It has something to do with the fact that at this point in the code, it doesn't know how many connectors attach to each point, but dir, ds, and neigh need to exists as variables, so I just allocate them as a single double. Later, I reallocate them with the proper length. It can probably be done a lot smarter.

after analyse, it appears the "stupid" part is useless, never initialized actually before being freed.
