x[3] in photon.c:photon set but not used

x is set, but never used.

What is the purpose of it ? should it be removed ?

Hmm, yes, it used to be used, but that might have become obsolete when I introduced velocity splines.
Try and remove it. M[0].weights is also not used anymore, I think.

you're right m[0].weight is never used. removing it also.
