v1.0.1 - Usability and Launcher Improvements

This release improves the day-to-day Windows experience of assemble, with fixes for target shortage visibility, icon consistency, and faster startup behavior through the launcher.

What's new

  • Target shortage output

    • Fixes the GUI output for shortages toward the target number of ovens
    • The Faltantes para el objetivo view now displays the expected values correctly
    • Keeps the analysis aligned with the generated Excel report
  • Windows icon improvements

    • Applies the configured assemble icon to the Windows application
    • Improves icon consistency for the packaged desktop app and launcher
    • Ensures the bundled Windows executable includes the configured icon resource
  • Faster launcher startup (assemble_launcher.exe)

    • Opens the installed app immediately when available
    • Avoids blocking startup while checking GitHub Releases on every run
    • Refreshes release metadata in the background for a smoother user experience
    • Uses cached release data to offer updates more efficiently

User impact

  • Shortage analysis for a target number of ovens is now easier to verify directly in the GUI
  • The desktop application now reflects the intended branding more consistently
  • Users launching the app through assemble_launcher.exe should notice a faster startup after the first installation

Important note

  • To benefit from the launcher startup improvements, users should use the updated assemble_launcher.exe from this release
  • The launcher can update the main app, but it does not update itself automatically

Included assets

  • assemble_launcher.exe - Recommended for most users
  • assemble_windows.exe - Main Windows application

Notes

This is a maintenance and usability-focused update to the initial release, aimed at improving clarity, branding consistency, and startup behavior for Windows users.
