Mint 22.1 (Xia) Dependency not satisfied

Tried to update to latest stable Vivaldi browser via deb file from vivaldi.com. (vivaldi-stable_7.1.3570.42-1_amd64.deb).

Captain gives the error Dependency is not satisfiable: libglib2.0-0 (>= 2.39.4)

Successfully installed the deb with dpkg -i

Captain still gives the same error though.

(Normally I leave it to Update Manager to handle it, but that failed this time. Can't remember exact error of Update Manager, possibly repo not found).

Anything else that could be of help, just ask.

System:

Update: While Update Manager manages the most recent Vivaldi updates fine, the issue with captain unfortunately persists. Same error as above trying to update from Vivaldi 7.1.3570.50 to most recent version with deb: (using deb vivaldi-stable_7.1.3570.50-1_amd64.deb). Curiously seems a bit slow to load (a few seconds of "Opening the package").

The underlying cause of this issue lies in python-apt, bug report at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python-apt/+bug/146398

python-apt doesn't consider Replaces when searching for dependencies, while dpkg -i apparently does. In this case package libglib2.0-0 is replaced by package libglib2.0-0t64
