When I start a new Cinnamon session and work for a few hours and want to suspend it, the Suspend option is not there, nor are the Logout, Shutdown and Restart options.

Steps to reproduce

Just use Cinnamon for a while, and then try to suspend it using the menu options, or logging out or shutting down or restarting. The first time I tried to suspend it, the option was shown, but nothing happened when I clicked it, and when I went to the menu to try it again, the options were not there.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, it doesn't work. Choosing Suspend with the applet does nothing that I can see.

The workaround is to shut the laptop lid, and disconnect all cables - power supply, external monitor, USB keyboard and mouse, and external speakers. In case it helps find and fix the bug, here are suspend blockers.

I patched my system today, and after a few hours, the Suspend option is still there. Although cinnamon and cinnamon-session report the same version numbers, the patching did update them, to 6.6.3-5 for cinnamon and 6.6.1-2 for cinnamon-session. I hope this is a permanent fix; if not, I will report back here, and if it stays fixed, I will close the issue. Thanks @leigh123linux and @claudiux.

For me suspend breaks whenever I listen to radio with Shortwave. Cinnamon session creates a second block and doesn't remove it when I close Shortwave.

Other apps may cause this too (I suspect Spotify, but didn't test it yet).

@leigh123linux but it fails to suspend for me, so it cannot clear anything. See also how "suspend" is no longer showing up in my power settings after I used the radio app - the options shown are just "power off", "lock", or "do nothing", while in normal state it has "suspend" there too, which is normally selected:

PS: the PID of the blocker is 1212 in the above screenshot. Running LMDE7.

PPS: shutdown is also broken btw - it only logs me out, I still need to shutdown from the login screen.

The problem is still fixed for me, so if it were up to me, I would close the issue. But since it still appears to affect @janxkoci, I will leave it open.
