Bug description

Reapers cursors do not switch states when interacting with midi / audio items in the arrangement / midi editing window, makes navigation and item interaction confusing.

No third party applets / desklets / extensions installed
Issue persists after system / reaper restart
Changing cursors did not help

Image

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open reaper
  2. Double click on the side bar to create a track
  3. Create a midi item in the playback window by pressing ctrl and dragging the mouse to the side
  4. Try to interact with edges of the track / midi notes inside of the track.

Expected behavior

Reapers cursor is context sensitive, and the reapers "side drag" functionality include, but is not limited to: Changing the size of midi notes, changing relative note size (When dragging with multiple notes), applying fade ins / outs on the track items, changing the size of midi items, changing the volume of midi items. For each function, the Reaper daw has its own "cursor", which helps with navigation and I would argue to be essential.

Additional information

I am coming from windows here, and the issue has been bugging me for quite a while.
