Feature Request: Make "Run with NVIDIA GPU" menu option a toggle #9894
Description
Cinnamon 4.8.6, Linux Mint 20.1
Graphics hardware: AMD Vega 7 Renoir with default Open Source drivers; NVIDIA GTX 1650 with Proprietary driver version 460
64 bit
When running a program from the menu in Prime's On-Demand mode, it will always run on the integrated AMD GPU unless I select "Run with NVIDIA GPU" (at least it appears that way -- if I am wrong, then it is unclear). It seems I have to select this each time I run it. However, it would be nice to be able to select it in a toggle-able way so that I can place a checkmark next to "Run with NVIDIA GPU" in the menu and have it run on that GPU every time I simply click the program in the menu. If I don't want it to run on that GPU, I would then un-check the "Run with NVIDIA GPU" option. There are some programs (mostly games) that only run smoothly on the NVIDIA GPU. There is currently no way to permanently/semi-permanently select the GPU on a per-program basis without editing .desktop files by hand to add in environment variables to accomplish the task. It would make Mint much more user-friendly if this was a persistent, toggled option in the menu.
