Nemo desktop folders repeatedly revert to the analysis view.

Issue
Folders on the Desktop keep reverting to the Analysis view, after repeated corrections using 'Open with' where Nemo was missing. I typed it into the field, it was accepted, and corrected for all folders including the trash can. But, some time later, the problem repeats.
The attached image displays a desktop shortcut used to access the list view of the same, because there is no context menu access.

Other information
This first happened weeks ago and quickly corrected. But this time, began some recent major update to cinnamon perhaps. I notice it by opening the Trashcan, but other file folders on the desktop, are not always affected. (There is no 'Open with' option on the trashcan context menu.)

I forgot to mention in the original post that using the cinnamon restart, did not repair the issue. I reinstalled cinnamon and since then this issue didn't reoccur.
