Nemo start then crash after 1-2 seconds

Hi,

After OS update, Nemo has a problem.. start then collapse after 1-2 seconds.

Steps to reproduce

Use Menu or by use console:

Found same. The system appears to be barfing on JPG files. Tracing back I found that libexiv2-27 had been upgraded which was causing the issue. I downgraded and it now works ok (needs restart of cinnamon):

I'm having an almost identical issue, but on Mint 21.3 and nemo 6.0.2. Checked apt/history.log and libexiv2-27 also updated, so I'll try downgrading and see if that fixes it.

(The specific error I'm getting in the terminal when it terminates is SIGSEV (Address boundary error))

[edit] Yep, that worked (downgraded from 0.27.5-3ubuntu1.1 to 0.27.5-3ubuntu1)

After I restored the old version using

sudo apt install libexiv2-27=0.27.5-3ubuntu1

IMHO, you should leave it open. We have a workaround, not a fix.

Looks like this was already fixed in libexiv:
