Draggable Overlay not working as intended on Hyprland

I'm using Hyperland on NixOS and am running this through the nix run command. When "Draggable Overlay" is checked, I can move the widget with the mouse, but it sort of "lags" behind the mouse, see below:

I don't think this is a bug, but it would be nice if the widget stayed visible while I was dragging it. Not sure if its supposed to do that and it just isn't working.
