MiniTool Partition Wizard Download
  1. Insert USB/MicroSD adapter into your computer

  2. Open MiniTool Partition Wizard

  3. Locate the USB/MicroSD adapter > Right Click the USB/MicroSD adapter > Delete All Partitions

  4. Right Click the empty partition > Select Create > Name the Partition Label SONY all caps > Change File System to FAT32 > Click ok and then Apply

  5. Extract Project Eris zip contents to the newly formatted USB/MicroSD adapter

  6. Plug the USB/MicroSD adapter into the PlayStation Classic console > Turn on console > Let it install Project Eris

  7. After install make sure your PlayStation Classic console is off and eject the USB/MicroSD adapter > Insert the USB/MicroSD adapter > Copy/backup the files/folders from the USB/MicroSD adapter onto your computer (these will be needed in step 9)

  8. Open MiniTool Partition Wizard and follow steps 3~4 again but choose NTFS or exFat for the File System

  9. Copy back the file/folders from step 7 onto the USB/MicroSD adapter

  10. Insert USB/MicroSD adapter into the PlayStation Classic console, power on, enjoy!

  11. It's highly recommended to plug your Project Eris USB/MicroSD adapter into an OTG cable after install to prevent USB corruption and power related issues

Step 3
Step 4
Step 8
  • Use an OTG cable or external USB powered hub to prevent damaging your PlayStation Classic and/or USB/MicroSD adapter
  • OTG cables can't be used until after Project Eris installs
  • Not every USB Flashdrive or Micro SD Adapter works. This is due to the front ports only providing around 100mA. If the USB or Micro SD doesn't work try with another. Micro SD Adapter seem to require less among the two.

How to add games via FTP

Using a FTP program such as WinSCP to SSH in Project Eris.

For starters you need to connect to the local network via Wifi dongle and look into the PSC Wifi settings for it's ip.

Example IP :

169.254.215.100

  • What are the default Project Eris SSH login details?

  • HOST:169.254.215.100 USERNAME: root PASSWORD: Not Required PORT: 22

  • What are the FTP login details?

  • HOST:169.254.215.100 USERNAME: root PASSWORD: Not Required PORT: 21

  • What are the Telnet login details?

  • HOST:169.254.215.100 USERNAME: root PASSWORD: Not Required PORT: 23

How to add Custom Game Covers

To add a custom cover the cover image must share the same filename as the game only with the png extension. If a custom cover is not provided in the transfer folder the tool will look for a cover image matching the game’s serial number in the covers folder :

\project_eris\opt\psc_transfer_tools\covers\

JPEG images are also supported by the stock UI however the extension must be changed to “.png” to work with the transfer tool. Note: JPEG files cannot be displayed as thumbnails in RetroArch's playlists.
