Pod 3 Format Reference

All information here is to my best knowledge, is is not proven by any official reference manual by Terminal Reality.*

POD2 files are simple container files housing other files like textures or models. File extension is pod.

Used in

• 4x4 Evo 1
• 4x4 Evo 2
• Blair Witch Volume 1: Rustin Parr
• Nocturne

Description

Checksum algorithm used in POD2 files is CRC-CCITT32 with initial crc value of 0xFFFFFFFF

• Libcrc - Multi platform MIT licensed CRC library in C
• macutils - makecrc
• QuickBMS CRC requires setting crc type to 2.
