Do we want to have this dependency info in the root pom?

No, I think having it in the web's root pom is good. No need to clutter the root pom until necessary.

Looks good. Would we pull this in as a dependency into geomesa-plugin? That way we still only have a single jar for geoserver. |

I think we should have the option to pull in only one jar . . . so an assembly project that collects all of the REST services. |
