I have same issue.. |
@cnrpman Is this something that is being considered? It would be great if someone could take a look. I wish I could contribute but I don't have any iOS programming experience :( |
@sutram It's not in the recent cycles of the team I afraid, as it's a compatibility issue with M x N combinations. But efforts for debugging & submitting PR are welcome. |
Got the same issue, as @sutram I unfortunately have no iOS programming skills |
I had the same issue and did some debugging. The reason is that the API used by Logseq is called UIDocumentPickerViewController, which cannot access a read-write folder whose parent is read-only. While SimpleEdit uses the API called UIDocumentBrowserViewController, which can access a read-only folder, but cannot use to pick a folder. I have no idea how to access the Drive folder using the given API and Drive doesn't have any way to help third-party app accessing the "sync" folder as I know. Maybe this should be fixed by Apple by giving extra params or Synology to provide a framework. |
@WAMaker Thanks for researching this. I am surprised that there is no API to get to a RW sub-folder within an RO folder. I am not sure what Synology can do if Apple doesn't expose an API like that. That is too bad. I understand why the top folder is RO. I guess Synology wants to make it so that they can control the folder structure and name at the top level. |
@sutram I'll still pay attention on this issue cause I'm suffering bad iCloud syncing these days :( |
Thanks. I am currently using Working Copy on iOS and git on the desktop app to sync but I would much prefer using Synology Drive 😞 |
I think this issue is a big deal. All my logseq notes are stored in Synology, and I need to read notes by iphone sometimes. Because of this issue, I have to replace logseq with evernote. |
@zaorangyang Yes it's a big deal. Any solution available? |
It's the Synology app's issue, detailed here cryptomator/ios#51 they need to add I have the same issue with logseq and pcloud fwiw |
@joekir Aha! I tried contacting Synology and they told me the problem is caused by Logseq… |
@WAMaker We are glad to help if they like :) |
@sutram what's up for now? What is your solution for this? |
I have no problem navigating my Synology NAS folders from within Logseq. I just ran the Import tool within the Logseq app and used Drive to access both personal and team folders. Logseq 0.9.1 on iOS 16.3.1 with Synology Drive 3.2.2-008. |
same problem, that's insane, because if you use icloud, that will have another problem! check the link below, so I sync with synology on PC, but iOS can't sync! |
same - any idea when this might get fixed? |

Uh oh!
There was an error while loading. Please reload this page.
What happened?
I have a Synology NAS and I have the latest version of the Synology Drive client that allows sync between files in the NAS and iPhone using the Sync Tasks feature of the client.
On the iPhone, the Synology Drive client creates a new Drive folder which is visible from the iPhone files app and I can navigate to sub-folders.
The logseq app can see this "Drive" folder but it is grayed out. It is possible, this is due to the fact that the top level folder is read-only while all the sub-folders are read-write and the logseq app needs to take this into account.
I tried to access the "Drive" folder using a different app called SimpleEdit (which is a simple text editor) and I an able to navigate to the sub-folder within the "Drive" folder without any issues.
Reproduce the Bug
Expected Behavior
The logseq app allows me to navigate to a sub-folder within the Drive folder to set up a new location.
