why are some stacks/compose files "missing" from the filesystem?

Im trying to rescue some containers on a host which are broken due to what Im guessing is; https://github.com/louislam/dockge/issues/361

When I look at the configuration of another host, there is no stack in the stacks folder for similar containers.
docker inspect however shows that dockge is indeed running these stacks in filesystem:

"com.docker.compose.project.config_files": "/srv/docker/dockge/stacks/archiveteamwarrior2/compose.yaml",
"com.docker.compose.project.working_dir": "/srv/docker/dockge/stacks/archiveteamwarrior2",

They are however not available in the filesystem as can be seen below, how does this work and is it supposed to be like this? On the same host, the fahgpu11 stack shown below has a stack folder....

I've also checked other containers and while they might have stacks-folders, they are missing their compose files in the filesystem.
