Tenets and Doctrines:
- Added several new tenets for Christian faiths:
- Frontier Monastics:
- Models the frontier Christian faiths, such as Insular Celtic or the Bosnian Church
- Only available if the root faith has this tenet
- Requires Pluralist Orientation
- Not combinable with Pastoral Isolation or Monasticism
- Has a -20% conversion speed with organized faiths
- Enables the Taking of Vows
- Unlocks the "Become an Adventurer" decision
- Can build Monasteries buildings in all holdings
- Clergy are always monks
- Temperate is a Virtue, Gluttonous and Greedy are Sins
- Render unto Caesar:
- Models the tension within the African Church between its Donatist and Imperial sects
- Only available to Christians
- Requires using an African Liturgical Rite and a Head of Faith
- Not compatible with Sacred Lies, Pastoral Isolation, Communion, Sanctioned False Conversion
- Counties and characters may sometimes reconvert to this faith
- Unlocks the Seek Indulgences interaction with the Head of Faith
- Unlocks the Request Excommunication interaction on same faith characters
- Spiritual Head of Faith can Excommunicate characters
- Makes Excommunicated a crime
- Reduced impact of the Excommunication trait
- +50% Peasant and Populist faction military power
-10% Stress Loss per Level of Fame
- Honest is a Virtue, Deceitful is a Sin
- Cenobitic Monasticism:
- Models the more Cenobitic Monastic life in early Christianity
- Unlocks the "Take Vows" decision
- Clerics are always monks
- Unlocks the Meditate in Seclusion decision
- Temperate is a Virtue, Gluttonous, Greedy, and Reveler Lifestyle are Sins
- Modified several tenets for Christian faiths:
- Complex Exegesis:
- Models the particularly
- Only available to Christians
- Requires not having Esotericism, Literalism, and requires Gnostic Soteriology
- Has a -10% learning lifestyle malus
- Enables "Literalist Debate" interaction
- Learning Education may also grant Wise Man/Woman trait
- Pilgrimages have a change to grant or upgrade the Wise Man/Woman trait
- Scholar and Wise Man/Woman are Virtues, Lazy is a Sin
- Monasticism (Congregational Monasticism):
- Models the development of larger congregations of monastics in the West, starting in the VIth century
- Unavailble to Hindus
- Unlocks the "Take Vows" decision
- Can build Monasteries buildings in all holdings
- +0.2 Development per construction in Temple and Temple Citadel holdings
- Temperate is a Virtue, Gluttonous is a Sin
- Redeeming Struggle: +50% Peasant and Populist faction military power
- Christian Syncretism: Made unavailable to Jews
- Rigorism: Requires either "Soteriology: Total Depravity" or "Soteriology: Gnosis" Doctrines for Christians
- Pastoral Isolation: Considers other faiths of the same religion to be Astray instead of Hostile
- Eastern Syncretism: Available to Dualist faiths and faiths with the Gnostic Tenet
- Mountain Hermits:
- No longer gets a bonus to convert faiths in mountains; retains the other bonuses
- No longer gets mediation mechanics
- Iconoclasm:
- Models the Icon-Breaking aspects of Paulicianism and Byzantine Iconoclasm
- Combines features of Aniconism and "Armed Pilgrimages" tenets
- -20% Holy War Cost, +25% Conversion per controlled Holy Site
- -33% Build Speed and Time for Temple Holding buildings
- Destroying artifacts gives piety, repairing artifacts costs Piety

- Added a new Temple Authority Doctrine for some Jewish Sects
- Models the various Jewish Christian sects that existed as part of the spectrum from the Ist to VIIth centuries
- Views, and is viewed by, other Jewish Temple Authorities as Evil instead of hostile
- Views Christians who are Judaizers or Supersessionists as hostile instead of evil

Localization:

- Updated localizations for some Holy Orders for various Christian faiths
- Updated Caucasian Albanian name and description for a more general religion between both the Parthian ruling class and the populace
- "Communal Identity" and "Legal Pronouncements" re-localizes to Jewish localizations if a Christian faith has Judaizers doctrine
- "Righteous Rebirth" Tenet given a new localization for Christians, "Humble Savior"
- Lapsi localization for Excommunication used for faiths using the African Rite or Rigorism Tenet
- Re-localized "Alexandrian Catechism" to "Scholasticism", which is anachronistic but less so than the current description
- Replaced some references to Saint Patrick, as it is anachronistic for the early Late Antique Period
