I downloaded v3.0.1 yesterday and all worked ok.
Today I downloaded v3.0.2 and my AV (Bitdefender) flagged the main .exe and the heatmap as malware.
I deleted v3.0.2 and tried to revert to 3.0.1 but this was also fallged and quarantined.
Any thoughts?

My advice is to ditch antivirus. Just don't click sus links and make sure you security check things that could potentially be intrusive.

Your AV is likely going crazy because this is ESSENTIALLY a keylogger underneath it all.. I mean.. it's NOT a keylogger obviously (and I can confirm as of writing this there's nothing malicious in the repo, but to an AV, this is monitoring your key presses, so that's probably what's triggering it.

I agree with your statement on this app being more likely to be flagged because it is a keylogger.
I updated Bitdefender the day after my post, and this app was not flagged again. Bitdefender is not very consistent imho.

I will never dispense with an AV solution completely though!

This is probably because the executables are not code signed. It will show as Unknown Publisher.
I do not have BitDefender, but It will help me to know which Malware was identified by your AV. Can you retrieve that from BitDefender?

I am aware of the Windows Defender alert (and vey used to bypassing it!)

Bitdefdender is very poor with identification and with notifications, but your files were being flagged as malware.
I've just dropped the files into VirusTotal and, apart from a couple of vendors reporting the heatmap .exe as trojan, everything looks clean.

I've just noticed that Bitdefender had decided to change its update interval to 8 hours (it's one of many bugs in Bitdefender!). I updated Bitdefender manually and scanned your app again. Now Bitdefender is not reporting any issues.

Thanks for the interest! Being upfront: I'm not planning to build a macOS version myself.

The tool hooks into Windows at a pretty low level to catch the bad keypresses, and none of that carries over to macOS, so it'd be a ground-up rewrite rather than a simple port. That's more than I can take on for a free side project.

Also worth flagging: this stutter is a known Windows issue, so it's worth confirming it even happens the same way on macOS before anyone invests time. It may not.

That said, the door's open. If someone wants to build a native version, I'd be happy to take it as a contribution.
