Looking for 10 Linux preview testers for Halite

I'm building Halite — a Markdown reader for people who write in Neovim or another editor and want a separate window for reading project documentation. It renders equations and Mermaid diagrams, follows relative links, and refreshes when you save. Files stay in their existing folders.

I'm looking for 10 Linux preview testers with real documentation to read. The preview is free, with no expiry or online activation. The full source is public under MIT. A finished desktop download is planned at $19 once to support packaging and maintenance; purchasing is not open yet.

Try it

1. Install the .deb on Debian/Ubuntu, or follow the portable archive instructions. The runtime is included; no Node installation is needed.
2. Choose Take a look around to try the example, then open one of your projects.
3. Use it for an actual reading task. If it fits your workflow, try it again on another day over the next week.

The .deb passed install, sandboxed reading workflows, a synthetic revision upgrade, and removal in Debian 12 and Ubuntu 24.04 x64 containers. I still need feedback from real desktop sessions and native dialogs. Other distributions and ARM have not been validated.

This early preview has no tabs, full-text project search, desktop find bar, file-manager associations, or automatic updates yet.
