The substance use disorder ontology (sudo) aims to provide a formal representation of the design and results of clinical trials on the treatment of substance use disorders. We create this formal representation to automate answering questions of the following format.
Of the substances, interventions, and outcomes studies, which substance, substances, or combination of substances produces a certain outcome?
Sudo aims to be compliant with basic formal ontology. Sudo 0.1 begins by describing all trials in the NIDA Data Share indexed with the keyword opiate.
Sudo represents clinical trials as two information artifacts, study design and evidence. The study execution, an occurrent, realizes the study design.
Future Directions:
- Describe all NIDA trials.
- Describe all SUD clinical trials.
