Your pytest-ros-node-example contains example tests for Python nodes only. Do you know about any limitations w.r.t. use cases (unit tests in Python for ROS C++ production code, etc.)?

I haven't tried to test C++ nodes yet, but I don't see why it shouldn't work. I agree it would be a good idea to add some examples for testing C++ tests as well.

There is also a pytest plugin for running c++ tests: https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest-cpp but I don't think this would make sense in combination with ROS.

I am trying out your example repo right now. 😉 Works quite well. I am currently trying to create a small example which tests a C++ node. In a C++ only package there won't be a pytest.ini file as in your Python node example repo. But as long as junit_suite_name is not required but optional that should not be an issue. As soon as I have it running I'll push it into ros-testing. I'd love to integrate it with hypothesis-ros and rospbt (converts hypothesis-ros messages and parameters to rospy types, not public yet) 😏

I had a look at pytest-cpp already as well. I don't think that it will help in the ROS context.
