OscarWatch Tracker - Version 0.8.10

Tracking and Rotator Controls

  • Rotator Emergency Stop and Tracking Hold Added an emergency stop feature that completely halts rotator movement and pauses automatic pass tracking on the spot. Tracking stays safely locked out until you explicitly hit resume. The main window has been updated with dedicated Stop and Resume actions, alongside full diagnostic test coverage to ensure the rotator stays put when commanded.

  • Icon Buttons for Rig and Rotator Panels Replaced several text-based layout buttons with clean, icon-only buttons for your rotator actions and the CAT pause toggle. These include clear tooltips and screen-reader accessibility labels. The documentation has been updated to reflect the new "Home (⌂)" designator.

  • SPID and EasyComm Protocol Guidance Updated the documentation to clarify SPID and EasyComm setups. The native SPID protocol notes now specify setting your controller to SP mode and Auto (A) with a 600 baud default (1200 for Rot1Prog hardware). Notes were also added confirming that M2 and other EasyComm gear are fully supported, and that SPID controllers can run in EasyComm mode if you prefer.

Pass Sidebar and Recording Fixes

  • Persistent In-Progress Pass Rows Fixed a frustrating issue where a live satellite pass row would suddenly vanish from the sidebar tracker during prediction updates. The software now actively merges in-progress passes so active rows stay visible until loss of signal (LOS).

  • Active Recording "REC" Badge Fix Fixed a bug where the red recording badge would unexpectedly disappear from an active pass row while the recording was still running in the background.

Time Formatting and UI Display Settings

  • Global UTC Display Toggle Introduced a new global option to display all main window times in UTC or your local clock. This controls the status bar clock, sidebar passes, hams.at roves, and sunlight predictions independently of your deep pass planner preferences. Older settings files will automatically migrate seamlessly to protect your existing layout view.

  • Corrected 12-Hour Clock AM/PM Markers Fixed 12-hour clock formatting for regions where the operating system defaults to 24-hour notation. When you select 12-hour mode, the app now forces a proper culture pattern that always includes the AM/PM indicator.

  • Main Screen Asset Update Updated the built-in user interface screenshots in the documentation folder to show off the latest button layout changes.
