Likely it will work again if you turn the power off to the switch, wait a few seconds and turn it on. Many Tuya devices have a bug in the firmware that causes them to start rejecting connections after a while, and the past few versions since 2026.4.0 have triggered this more frequently especially for protocol 3.4 devices. |

Uh oh!

Hello. I have a Mini Smart Switch, Wi-Fi version. It was working fine with Tuya Local, but about a week ago it stopped working. The integration showed errors saying the device couldn't be reached (I didn't note down the exact error).
I remember there was some kind of update, but I don’t recall exactly which one — Home Assistant or Tuya Local.
Right now, I have Tuya Local version
2026.5.1and Home Assistant Core2026.5.3.I tried removing the device from Tuya Local and adding it again, but it ends with an error:
Unable to connect to your device with those details. It could be an intermittent issue, or they may be incorrect. If you selected a specific protocol version, try 'auto' instead.system logs:
The error is the same whether you add it via the cloud or enter the parameters manually.
The device is working — I can control it via Tuya cloud integration or through the SmartLife app on my phone. But I would like to control it through Tuya Local.
In other threads, people mentioned that updating the device's firmware might have changed the protocol version. I don't remember what firmware version was installed when the device was working, but automatic updates are disabled in the SmartLife app, and I haven't updated it manually.
Please help me fix this error.
