We want /project/smarthomedhh to redirect to /project/homesound

I think we do it like this:

Another possible thing to search for is Django url redirects.

We could also hard code the redirect here:

So, we should check: project_name is "smarthomedhh" and if so, switch to homesound

Confirming that this works:

    if project_name.casefold() == 'homesound':
        project_name = 'smarthomedhh'
    
    project = get_object_or_404(Project, short_name__iexact=project_name)

But ideally if someone goes to smarthomedhh, we would redirect them to homesound. That's not what this does. It just shows the same view for both urls.

Re-verified 2026-06-13 — this is not fixed; the existing label was incorrect.

URL check across both servers:

URL	Test	Prod
/project/smarthomedhh/	404	200
/project/homesound/	404	404

Cause: the project view resolves Project by short_name__iexact=project_name only (website/views/project.py); there is no alias mechanism. A real fix would require either:

• adding an aliases / ProjectAlias field on Project and resolving against it, or
• a small URL-level redirect map for known historical short_names (homesound → smarthomedhh, plus any others we've renamed).

The latter is probably preferable — a few lines in urls.py and doesn't touch the model. Removing the stale FixedNeedsToBeTestedOnTestServer label.
