Hi team,

I've been reviewing #14 and have some thoughts on the technical approach:

Proposed Architecture:

• Frontend: Next.js + Electron for a robust cross-platform desktop experience
• Backend: Python 3 + FastAPI for better development workflow and code quality

This stack would provide better separation of concerns and improve the overall development process.

Bug Fix:
I've resolved the first bug locally on my system (see screenshot). If this approach looks good to the team, I'm happy to clean up the commit and submit it for review.

Let me know if you'd like me to proceed with the commit or if you have any feedback on the proposed architecture.

First: Thanx for your work.

Well on my non-nvidia laptop it was not able to present the skybox, but the rest worked, a transparent screen is sth. new. I have to test your change on all our boxes including Windows, Apple, Linux. Then this background rendering on a extra canvas. If that works I can do the change. Unfortunately it is more the rather unknown fact how PySide6 interacts with OpenGL. Partly they have commands wrapping OpenGL, partly not. The Mesa implementation seems to be different on Windows (there the skybox worked) and on Linux. So I need to check your change especially with other boxes. Please check animation and background render ... (you need to download the assets for that, there is an walking animation).

Development:
Why should I put another javascript layer to that? Why do you think FastAPI results in a better code? I have the experience in my company it even resulted in more confusion, but mostly because of authentication and stuff. What should I do with a react framework? Move the application into a browser?

I should have written that stuff in C++ ... because also PyQt6 is based on it. We even have a branch here on github where somebody replaces calculation of normals or loop algorithm by rust, yes no wonder, it is much faster .. that is the advantage of compiled languages.

I hope you know, that most of the people using the system are not even able to install one additional tool or create a venv, they click on a python object and visual studio opens and I will only get these "it does not work" errors here in github. Makehuman1 was replaced by MPFB2 just because Blender does the work. This is an attempt for those, who do not want to learn Blender.

As a result I need to build packages (the one for debian seems to work) and use NSIS for windows and make it as easy as it could be.

We, the nerds, know how to deal with pip and npm ... but the majority will not do that. And I want to do the solution for artists or normal users, not only for programmers.

So, yes ... I will try your version on another box. I am pretty busy so ... I have to do it in my spare time. Do not wonder if it takes time. But I am happy about everyone helping me.

Thank you for the detailed feedback—I really appreciate the context.
Regarding the skybox issue on non-NVIDIA Linux (Mesa): noted. I'll check the animation and background render as you suggested and test against the assets. I'll update the PR once I've verified those work correctly.
On the frontend/FastAPI suggestion — fair point. I understand the concern around adding more layers, especially given authentication complexity and the target audience being non-technical users. My thought was around packaging ease, but if the PyQt6/PySide6 path keeps the install story simpler (especially for .deb/NSIS packaging), it makes more sense to stay on that track.
Completely understand you're busy — no rush. I'm happy to keep iterating on the fork in the meantime. I'll keep the changes minimal and focused so they're easier for you to review when you get time.

Yes, all okay, thanks. It is an interesting idea though. I only knew these browser 3d viewers, they usually suck when doing multi-layer transparent meshes, so hair or transparent clothes. And I have no idea, what they do with an animation. Especially with a high amount of vertices.

One short remark: My linux nvidia box seems to cope with it, but the change in opengl/camery.py nearly freezes rotation. Maybe that change was accidentally. In case it is: then it would be only the VAO + order of statements. Background render seems not to be affected. There will be more tests for sure.

Skybox: it seems to work on my laptop now. Without that change in opengl/camera.py I can merge it. Is that okay? Even the reflections now work :)

Yeh it is ok
