Designed for designers, developers, and creatives, Vectopen provides a lightweight, intuitive, and cross-platform solution (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and HTML5) for creating and editing vector graphics, such as illustrations, logos, and icons. It aims to be a competitive alternative to tools like Adobe Illustrator and Affinity Designer, focusing on accessibility, performance, and minimalist design.

  • GDScript: Primary language for general software development, leveraging Godot Engine’s flexibility.
  • C#: Used for performance-critical functions requiring high efficiency.

Features

  • Cross-platform: Supports Windows (including XP), macOS (including Catalina), iOS, Android, and HTML5 (web browsers).
  • Minimalist Interface: Sleek, clean, and user-friendly for all skill levels.
  • Optimized Performance: Runs efficiently on low-end hardware.
  • Advanced Tools: Includes shader support and direct export to Godot Engine’s .tscn format.
  • Accessibility: Tailored workflows for beginners and professionals, including UI/UX, logos, and game assets.

Main Objectives

  • UI: Sleek, minimalist, and highly intuitive interface.
  • Performance: High efficiency on low-end hardware.
  • Compatibility: Support for legacy systems (Windows XP, macOS Catalina) and browser access via HTML5.

Installation

  1. Download the latest version from the Releases section.
  2. Run the installer for your operating system or access the HTML5 version via a web browser.
  3. Open Vectopen and start creating!

System Requirements

  • Operating Systems: Windows XP+, macOS 10.15 (Catalina)+, iOS 13+, Android 8+, modern web browsers (for HTML5).
  • RAM: 2 GB minimum (4 GB recommended).
  • Disk Space: 500 MB of free space (not applicable for HTML5).

Contributing

Vectopen needs your talent! We’re looking for developers and designers to enhance the tool:

  • Developers: Propose new features, optimize performance with GDScript or C#, or experiment with shaders, Godot Engine (.tscn) export, or the HTML5 version.
  • Designers: Improve UI/UX, create intuitive workflows, or design tools for professionals.

To contribute:

  1. Fork the repository.
  2. Create a branch for your feature (git checkout -b new-feature).
  3. Make your changes and commit (git commit -m "Add new feature").
  4. Push to your fork (git push origin new-feature).
  5. Open a Pull Request.

See our contribution guidelines for more details.
