Welcome to the polished, production-ready release of GoodTime! This update brings a massive overhaul to the application's feel, delivering silky-smooth cinematic transitions and fixing critical stability bugs to ensure a premium desktop experience.

🪄 Cinematic Animations & UI Polish

  • Seamless Page Transitions: Navigating between Home, Library, Settings, and your Courses now features a gorgeous fade-in and slide-up animation. Say goodbye to jarring screen snaps!
  • Smooth Player Swaps: Switching between lectures in the course player now elegantly cross-fades the video viewport.
  • Dynamic Sidebar: The course content sidebar now smoothly collapses and expands with an easeOutCubic animation, allowing the video player to gracefully expand to full width.

⚙️ Dedicated System Screens

  • Integrated About Screen: Learn about GoodTime and its developer natively from the newly integrated sidebar section.
  • Settings & Preferences: Easily accessible settings panel to configure preferences and review all available keyboard shortcuts.

⌨️ Cleaned Up Controls (Keyboard First)

  • Removed cluttered playback speed buttons from the UI. Playback speed is now entirely managed via keyboard shortcuts for a cleaner, distraction-free viewing experience.
  • Pro Tip: Use Shift + . to increase playback speed dynamically while watching!

🛠️ Critical Bug Fixes & Stability

  • Fixed the Hive Lock Crash: Resolved a critical startup crash (OS Error: Access denied) caused by stale .lock files persisting after improper shutdowns. GoodTime now safely cleans up its local database on boot.
  • Cleaned up the repository of all temporary .py utility scripts.

Download the GoodTime-Installer.msix file attached below.

Note: As this is a self-signed app, right-click the .msix file -> Properties -> Digital Signatures, click Details -> View Certificate, and install it to your Trusted Root Certification Authorities before double-clicking to install.

Option 2: Portable ZIP

Download the GoodTime-v1.0.2-Windows.zip file below, extract it anywhere on your machine, and simply double-click playit.exe to start binging your courses!
