Highlights

Supervisor Alpha lays the foundation for supervisor/worktree orchestration in OpenCode.

This release is about durability, routing, review flow, and recovery rather than a big autonomy or UX jump. It establishes the core system needed to run multi-lane work safely and predictably, and it shipped to main via PR #38 (epic/supervisor-alpha -> main, merge commit e2d017d).

What's Included

  • Durable run state store for reliable orchestration state across execution and recovery paths
  • Lane worktree provisioner for isolated lane setup and workspace management
  • Session runtime adapter connecting supervisor flows to OpenCode session execution
  • Supervisor scheduler and routing for assigning, coordinating, and progressing work
  • Approval gates to support controlled handoffs and decision points
  • Review coordination for structured validation and multi-step oversight
  • Recovery and repair playbooks for failed or interrupted runs
  • End-to-end validation coverage across core orchestration paths
  • New supervisor documentation for architecture, behavior, and operator guidance
  • Leakage hardening for cleaner, safer output hygiene

Validation

  • npm test -- --run passed (27 files, 120 tests)
  • npm run typecheck passed
  • Local OpenCode smoke checks passed

Known Limits

  • Branching is branch-capable, not yet branch-intelligent
  • Alpha supports configurable, base-ref-driven flows
  • It does not yet auto-detect a repository's branching strategy
  • This is primarily a foundation and reliability release, not a major UX or autonomy milestone yet

What's Next

  • Improve branch awareness and repository strategy detection
  • Expand supervisor decision-making and routing intelligence
  • Deepen recovery, review, and approval ergonomics
  • Build on this foundation toward stronger end-to-end autonomous workflows
