Note templates

Is logseq's template feature (/template) planned or may be already exists, but not found for me?

this already exists, it is just not a separate command the way logseq presents it. to make a template, right-click the block and choose "Make a template…", give it a name, and the block gets a template:: property with that name, which is what makes it a template. to use it later, type / and start typing the template name and it shows up in the slash menu as "Template: ", and typing /template lists all of them at once. so nothing is planned or missing here, the templates from a logseq graph work the same way because tine reads the same template:: property.

I have at least two notes marked as template::, but cmd+k search doesn't show them in menu (see screenshot) as well as the /-command. At the same time Logseq shows these templates.

There is an example one of real templates:

@brake, the fix is out in Tine Beta 0.8.0-beta.7: a template:: in a page's own properties now makes it a template, so "Usual note" shows up in the / menu and under /template. Inserting it adds the properties block without the template:: line, with <% today %> filled in. Beta users get the update in the app.

Thanks for the example, that pinned it down. This was a bug in Tine: a template:: property in a page's own properties (the lines at the very top of the page, before the first bullet) was not picked up as a template. A template:: on a bulleted block worked. Logseq treats both as templates, so your "Usual note" showed up there and not here.

Fixed for the next Beta: page-property templates now appear in the / menu (and under /template), and inserting one adds the properties block without the template:: line, with <% today %> filled in. Checked in the real app with your exact template on a page; the same test fails on the current Beta.

Two notes:

• Ctrl/Cmd-K search doesn't list templates, in Logseq either; templates are inserted through /.
• A page-property template inserts just that properties block, as Logseq does when it looks a template up by name, not the rest of the page.
