Learn how to use Aletheia effectively to understand language context and etymology.
- Select text on any webpage by clicking and dragging
- Right-click to open the context menu
- Click "Explain with AI"
- Read the analysis in the overlay
Aletheia provides three key pieces of information:
A visual indicator showing the educational context level:
| Level | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 🟢 Green | Neutral terminology |
| 🟡 Yellow | Some historical context worth knowing |
| 🟠 Orange | Significant etymological backstory |
| 🔴 Red | Strong historical/cultural implications |
A concise one-liner capturing the most important historical insight about the term.
Detailed context including:
- Word origins and evolution
- Historical usage
- Cultural significance
- Modern implications
Aletheia works best with:
- Individual words or short phrases
- Proper nouns and place names
- Idioms and expressions
- Technical terminology
- Historical references
- Be specific: Select the exact term you want to understand
- Include context: For phrases, select the complete expression
- Avoid long passages: Keep selections under ~50 words for best results
- Sends selected text to AWS for AI analysis
- Displays results in a temporary overlay
- Stores your preferences locally
- Track your browsing history
- Store your selections permanently
- Share data with third parties
- Access pages you don't explicitly analyze
