Run more than one server identity at the same time, and get connected faster when you launch.

New

  • Multiple profiles, running side by side — you can now keep separate setups in the same app. A new New Instance… item in the app menu (Command-Shift-N) opens a chooser where you can create a profile or launch an existing one. Each profile has its own saved servers, preferences, passwords, sound packs, and chat history, and runs as its own window — so you can be signed in to two servers at once, for example a personal one and a work one, without them mixing. A Manage Profiles… item lets you rename or delete the profiles you've created. Your existing setup stays exactly as it is and becomes the default profile, so nothing changes unless you choose to add one. (Contributed by heath-toby.)
  • Connect to your last server on launch — a new option in Preferences, under Connection, makes the app connect straight to the server you used last when it starts, so you don't have to pick it from the list every time. It's off by default; turn it on if you'd like it. If the connection can't be made, you simply land back on your server list as usual.

Other changes

  • Buttons in launch announcements — the occasional messages the app shows at startup can now include a button that opens a relevant link in your browser, alongside the usual OK button.

Note

This version moves your saved servers and settings to a new per-profile storage location. If you later reinstall an older version, it won't see them — nothing is lost, they're just in the new location.
