Customise the help texts for Metrics

Description:
Currently in Matomo, there is no built-in way to modify or customize the definitions of metrics shown in the user interface. This can lead to frustration from end clients, especially when the provided definitions are too technical or unclear for their level of expertise.

While the Customise Translations community plugin https://plugins.matomo.org/CustomiseTranslations#preview

allows some level of customization for dimension headings, there is no equivalent for metrics definitions.

💡 Proposed Enhancement:
Introduce a system where Super Users can:

Override default metric definitions with custom, simplified text

Provide tailored explanations for internal stakeholders or non-technical clients

Store and apply custom definitions instance-wide or per-site

✅ Benefits:
Improves usability and accessibility for end clients

Reduces support questions related to unclear terminology

Enables agencies and partners to adapt Matomo’s language to the level of their audience

This could be integrated similarly to how translations or label customizations are handled today.

Thanks @Chardonneaur for the suggestion.
But what we want instead, is to make the definition clear for everyone. This should be possible.

Can you let us know (in new, separate bug reports) which Metric definitions are not clear? We can make them more clear.

@mattab it is not really about making them clearer, it is about creating their own definition because audiences using Matomo may be totally different, some won't need some technical jargon whereas some other will.
