override the tooltip?

wondering if there is a way to override the tooltip that you add to the icons?

e.g.

have tried this:

[{{< iconify mdi:github >}}](https://github.com/maxfordham/netzero-metrics/){title="Open GH Repo"} 

but on the rendered site:

(my mouse disappeared while snipping but its hovering on the GH icon)
