Theme

-We seem to be leaning more toward a space-themed game, and there are some good ideas that revolve around that particular theme.

Side-Scolling (Horizontal)

Either a vertical or a side scrolling shooter game. It is possible to include transitioning back and forth between the two. (-Mennypunns)

I would say that we do a side-scrolling game. That way the player can move across their main axis of defense faster. But I think a vertical system will be better for analyzing situations in gameplay. When we build the cabinet, we could mount the screen on its side for a 9 wide by 16 tall aspect ratio. (-Douglas)

The Game has officially been finalized as a sidescrolling game type.

-The screen height ratio you mention would drastically change the design of the game levels, and the hud; it would be best if it was put up to a vote early on. (-mennypunns-)

Features

(To post ideas about what to have in the game. What player power ups should be available? What sort of enemies, etc.)

Creative Direction

(For all things specifically related to the creative aspects of the games -We have jaclyn working on the plot, she has stated that she wants the plot to be character driven. Supposedly in around 2 weeks the work will be done.

The Setting: A kingdom, where a king rules over three seperate houses. The Plot: One of the house leaders, Samuel Mars, rebels against the King. The player (Thracius Blackfyre) is a soldier sent to deal with Samuel Mars and his army. Jaclyn is working on characters.

Art

(All things visual) -A roman futuristic aesthetic.

The smallest ship size should have a visible cockpit, this size will probably be around 200 by 100 pixels.

The largest ship size cannot be more than 1000*1000 pixels, though even that size is not recommended outside of boss fights.

:to me (-mennypunns-) this means :-:color is used to denote rank of soldiers, blue and purple denotes royalty. Small red markings denote low rank soldiers, while red highlights or red coating on ships denotes high ranking soldiers. :-:The armor of ships is designed to curve around core components of the ships but does not fit snugly. Think large segmented plate armor

:-:The HUD design should be non-intrusive. If a bar type hud is used, it should be on the top of the screen as opposed to the bottom. (-mennypunns-)

Music, SFX, and audio

(All things audio) Anthony has the soundtrack, (-mennypunns-) suggests lmms, its free and well featured..
