Video player styling example shows 414 error

Upon trying to see the Result example on the video player styling page, I get a message saying "Error: URI Too Long".

When trying to access the URL directly, I get a 414 error.

What did you expect to see?

The example video with the buttons.

@mdn/engineering Did something change wrt to the playground? It looks like the problem is with the playground URL. It worked fine before.

There's a limit of 8k imposed by the WAF (deployed mid-December 2025, but only applied to the PlayGround on 8th April), and the URL in question is 9848 bytes.

8K is a reasonable limit - that we're hitting it points to a problem with the design of playground's state management. We'll discuss this in our engineering team to see if there's any viable solutions - I suspect the normal solution of using POST instead of GET is a non-starter in this scenario.

@Josh-Cena is it possible to reduce the size of this playground? eg. by using smaller assets.

Thanks. The large size is probably due to the CSS-embedded images which can be migrated to SVG, but it's going to be a non-trivial task. I wonder how much of our interactive examples are affected by this change and whether it can generate a warning at build time.
