Summary
Note: The focus of this PR was to "fix" the markdown formatting of the document, though I changed the wording of a few sentences that stood out to me. I noticed while editing that the same quote is used at lines 70, 81, 134, and 408, but I wasn't sure what to do about it, so I thought it best to leave revising/rewriting the page to someone more qualified.
Motivation
Primarily to remove out-of-place symbols from the document.
