Team
The residency is led by fubby14, an artist whose work sits at the intersection of generative systems, blockchain ritual, and narrative design. Projects like 14x14, Grim 1400, and Smoke and Ash already pushed Solana into unexplored cultural territory, experimenting with ownership mechanics, generative decay, and long-form on-chain processes.
Kaya supports with fundraising, partnerships, and hosting through mallow.art, a Solana-native marketplace that will present the Codex. Together, we bring artistic vision and ecosystem infrastructure.
We’re the right team because this is not abstract education. It is lived practice. We don’t just explain Core, we teach it through creating. Each artifact minted is a proof point that helps Core adoption spread further into Solana’s cultural layer.
Abstract
Impossible Artifact is a 7 week residency on Solana where artists learn by doing. Participants mint experimental NFTs that bend protocol rules and, by the end, contribute to a Codex of impossible relics permanently on chain.
Description
The purpose of impossible artifact is take creators deep into Solana through a residency that teaches by doing. Over seven weeks I guide participants through chambers of practice: threshold, fragment, paradox, machine, form, gate, and seal. In each chamber they mint and manipulate NFTs, testing the protocol’s features until they arrive at a final relic that should not exist but is enforced by Solana’s logic.
This is education through creation. Instead of technical lectures, participants mint entry tokens, edit metadata, explore ownership rules, and experiment with assets that decay, bend or seal themselves. Each exercise introduces specific capabilities of the system in a way that is intuitive and artistic. By relying on GUI tools and guided flows, even those without coding backgrounds can engage deeply with the technology.
The residency also produces cultural impact. Each artifact minted becomes part of a Codex of impossible relics, a living gallery on chain that documents the work and shows others what Solana makes possible. Alongside this Codex I will publish open documentation so the process can be adapted and expanded beyond the residency.
By the end, participants will have minted, experimented and made magic on Solana, leaving them with direct knowledge of the protocol and with work permanently tied to the ecosystem. The project helps by educating creators in an approachable way, inspiring further experimentation, and leaving behind a visible archive of impossible artifacts that continue to tell Solana’s story.
Milestones (optional)
Milestone 1 – Prep and onboarding (Weeks 0–1)
Recruit and onboard 7 artists
Set up Core plugin flows and minting environment
Share a preview of the residency structure with the community
Milestone 2 – Residency execution (Weeks 2–7)
Run 7 weekly sessions introducing Core plugins through creative exercises
Each artist mints 6 experimental sketches
Publish mid-residency update showcasing example relics and learnings
Milestone 3 – Codex release and documentation (Weeks 8–10)
Each artist completes a final Impossible Artifact using Core
Curate and mint the Codex as a public collection on Solana
Release open-source documentation and templates
