Move namespace hangs but seems to work

I installed the Move plugin and tried to move one namespace to a new location under another namespace. So I select 'Move namespace' on, eg, currentspace and for 'New name' I enter otherspace:currentspace. I have tried it with the "Ignore errors" checkbox checked and unchecked. "Rewrite links" is always checked. When I click Start, and then proceed from the next page, it displays a progress bar that jumps to about 20% - 30% right away, and then never changes. It will sit there indefinitly, spinning the graphic thing.

If I click on "Abort" it stops, and when I go back up to the site root and look at what's there, it seems to have worked. The namespace has been moved, and references to pages in it go to the new location.

I find that if after it's been running for a bit, I select 'Admin' again, the live to the move page says "(Move pending)", and when I go there, it says that there is a move in progress, would I like to resume? If I do, it pretty quickly finishes and displays the popup saying that the move is complete.

This sounds as if something with the JavaScript code was broken. In theory that code should make multiple requests to the server and advance the progress bar as pages are moved. Could you please check if there is anything in your browser's web console?

This instance of Chrome is giving me multiple errors about inline Javascript. One of those is that it won't run "onclick" declarations in the HTML. In Firefox, it starts and then immediately stops with a message displayed "A previous move was not completed - use the buttons below to continue or abort the execution." - clicking the Continue button displayed at that point finishes the move.
