[Request] Print/cat file with micro highlighting

I'm very used to my micro colorscheme and often find myself opening micro just to read a source file. My request is for the ability to print (cat) a file, colored as micro would in a buffer. Alternatively, is this possible with a plugin?

If you want to print a file exactly as it would be colored in micro, you can take a look at the syncat example from the highlighting library micro uses: https://github.com/zyedidia/highlight. You'll have to modify the example code to point to your installation of the syntax files, because the example currently uses gopath which is now out of date. You might have to write some code yourself to produce the exact theme you want.

You can also use the Flare library (https://github.com/zyedidia/flare), which is planned to be the syntax highlighting library micro will use in the future (when I find the time to integrate it). It comes with an hcat tool that you can install by running go install github.com/zyedidia/flare/cmd/hcat. The hcat tool can do a bit more than syncat (produce html files) and works out of the box with embedded syntax files. It doesn't support as many languages though. The highlighting should look very similar, if not the same, as what you see with micro currently. You can also customize the theme with this tool by providing a yaml file. Available themes are listed at https://github.com/zyedidia/flare/tree/master/theme/themes, and you could write your own and rebuild the tool.
