Can no longer access Bird's Eye view in bing.com/maps

The Bird's Eye view of Bing maps has been replaced with a "3D" view which is a far more inaccurate depiction than the Bird's Eye view was. This is a significant downgrade and I was wondering if there was any way to access the old Bird's Eye view that has the actual 45 degree Satellite Imagery.

I also just discovered this and am sad to lose this functionality. From the limited info I could find online it sounds like this was a marketing/financial decision because a relatively small niche community of users took advantage of the oblique imagery and they have gone with the 3D-model-with-draped imagery view similar to Google Maps. However, it looks like you can still access the actual oblique imagery through the SDK/API:
