🐞[Bug & Feature Request] Run code apps in the Power Apps mobile app and Power Apps for Windows

[jadmqt1]

Hi Jordan Chodak (@jordanchodakWork) , opening this to share why mobile player support is often the deciding factor between code apps and canvas apps.

Summary
Code apps currently run only in a web browser. They are not supported in the Power Apps mobile app or Power Apps for Windows, which blocks them for many business scenarios where mobile access is required.

Why it matters

• Many organizations distribute their business apps to employees through the Power Apps mobile app, not through browser links.
• Users often need to work from their phone, for example to capture photos or attach documents on the go.
• Offline access is important for users with limited connectivity.
• Today, teams that need any of these must choose canvas apps, even when code apps would offer better maintainability (TypeScript, reusable components, testing) and more control over the UI.

Request

• Support running code apps in the Power Apps mobile app and Power Apps for Windows.
• If full offline support is the main blocker, consider an online-only first release.
• Share an approximate timeline so teams can plan their architecture choices.

Thanks for the great work on code apps!

Hello, thanks for reaching out and for using code apps! A couple of things:

1. Code apps are supported to run online in the Power Apps mobile app. Are you running into issues with this? It should be fully supported.
2. We do not plan to support offline for code apps in the immediate future. If offline is a priority for your use case, we recommend evaluating Power Apps native mobile apps. Note that native apps are still in preview.

Please let us know if you have further questions!

Thanks Jordan Chodak (@jordanchodakWork) .
yes, I'm running into an issue. My code app gets stuck forever on the "Opening..." screen in the Power Apps mobile app (Android), while it works fine in the browser.

Repro: https://github.com/jadmqt1/finance

Environment

• Android 13, Power Apps mobile (player version 3.26094.6 from the launch URL)
• @microsoft/power-apps 1.5.0, Vite 7.3.7, React 19.2, @microsoft/power-apps-vite plugin
• Fluent UI v9, react-router-dom 7, TanStack Query 5
• Dataverse data sources added with pac code add-data-source (mm_fin_demandes, mm_fin_reservations)

What I tested

1. A blank pac code init Vite template app opens fine on mobile.
2. Adding Fluent UI + the router (one ~619 KB JS bundle) → stuck on "Opening...".
3. Splitting the bundle with manualChunks (largest file ~277 KB) → opens and renders on mobile.
4. Copying the full finance code into that working app → stuck on "Opening..." again. I then tried switching HashRouter → MemoryRouter, removing the getContext() call, and emptying databaseReferences, and it was still stuck, even when the JS output was byte-identical to a build that had opened before.
5. Re-creating the app with a new pac code init (new app ID) and pushing → still stuck.

Questions:

• Is there a bundle-size or per-file limit for code apps in the mobile player?
• Is there a known issue with Dataverse data sources or HashRouter on mobile?
• Is there a way to get logs from the mobile player to see what it's waiting for?
