  • other minor improvements

@Smooth-E, I mentioned you because you are the author of the original translation and your opinion is important to me, because I respect your work.

Unexpectedly, my translation contains a whole bunch of typos, great to see them conveniently fixed. Also, you changed declensions of some words to have them translated as developers of this lessons wanted them originally. And the last one, using Russian equivalents of words such as fork is a good practice, that will help newcomers understand what they mean. Great work overall!

Share your experience. This is kind of offtopic, but I am new to translating, so I want to ask, which code editor do you use to translate those texts. If you use vscode, does it have an extension to highlight Russian typos and such?

Thank you for such a good review!

Yes, I think is a good practice to use equivalents of dev slang words in translate. But need to keep a balance, because these words are somehow used in the Russian-speaking community as anglicisms (fork, quiz, commit, and so on). And at their first mention, it would be nice to give a full translation with the addition of the original in parentheses. So I did it. After the first mention, we can safely use anglicism, because they are already used in practice and contribute to integration into the international community of developers.

My tools

I use VIM joke :)
– VS Code without extensions for text edits.
LanguageTool in editor mode for check text on typos and style.

This is a great discussion! We have a Discussion board as well with a lot of translators gathering to take notes and share advice and vocabulary choices, so please feel free to chat over there as well!
