Steps to reproduce the bug

1. Start Windows Sandbox after reboot.
2. Close Windows Sandbox session after bussiness done
3. Start Windows Sandbox

Expected result

3. Windows Sandbox session is started.

Actual result

On 3 => > error in title.

vCPU set to disabled does not help, this used to help back in the days.

I get this too on windows education, and it's happened on both 24H2 and 25H2, I haven't been able to find a fix for this yet.

I figured out a weird fix for it, since I have 2 GPUs, a 3060 and a intel 770 (integrated), I just disabled the integrated and I don't get this error anymore

I got the same issue. W11 Pro, 25H2, 26200.7840. My rig has 2 x 4090 + integrated AMD Radeon (7950X). Thanks to @Callan-Mitchell I inspected It down and found a different workaround similar in context:

I went to System > Display > Graphics. Then "Add desktop app" -> "C:\WINDOWS\system32\WindowsSandbox.exe"

Once It is added at the Custom settings for applications, select it up and set in the next way:

1. GPU preference: Power Saving (AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics)
2. Auto HDR: Off
3. Optimizations for windowed games: Off

And it just worked. I cant test some smelly executables at my windows sandbox, thank god.

By the way, the above was the very first set of config I tried. Didn't inspect it any further.

25H2 26200.8117 just updated today. Reboot to install updates and now my Sandbox, that was working fine before, is exhibiting JensNordenbro's symptoms.
Tried the GPU preference setting; no luck. Sandbox loops through; connection lost, reconnect and never opens again.

Since the latest Windows updates I'm having the same problem, same symptoms. I also tried the GPU preference, but it didn't work. Sandbox worked perfectly before.

I have done lots Of things to fix different issues.

All in all

1. Repair Windows solved some problems
2. The following wsb-file content solved some:
