Bumping the project version to 0.8.10 looks like a release cut, but CHANGELOG.md still has several entries under [Unreleased] and the latest released section is 0.8.9. To avoid changelog/version drift, add a new ## [0.8.10] - YYYY-MM-DD section and move the current Unreleased entries into it (per .github/instructions/changelog.instructions.md:27).
